Free Intacta Code Reader
Offered on Intacta’s website in mid 2000, this program was designed to read INTACTA.CODE from magazines. The idea here was this could be used to add digital media to a totally offline format. The example used here is a list of links to websites that were featured in the August 2000 issue of PC Magazine. The code used was mirrored on Intacta’s website but wasn’t archived. The article from the magazine is available here, and the code at the bottom has been cleaned up and is available on the downloads page.
The reader itself was recovered from a corrupted zip file on archive.org’s mirror of the Intacta site. Files created in Intacta Express will not decode on here. Interestingly, though, the example for this reader (from PC Magazine) will decode on the Japanese decoder, but exports as a proprietary archive format which suggests that this reader was looking for a specific file format.
